LEGO Silver Star Wars Storm Trooper at Toys R Us

LEGO Silver Star Wars Storm Trooper. Say that 10 times really fast!

This popped up this morning on the Toys R Us website – if you purchase a LEGO Star Wars set of $11.99 or more in value, you get this Storm Trooper (or stormtrooper) free. It looks like you can purchase it as well, for $2.99, which seems a little odd. It is listed as sold out, but if they were actually offering these for sale, people would just go in and pay the $2.99 a piece and throw them up on eBay or BrickLink. My guess is that it needed a price to be in the system and it’s probably only being offered through the stores with the purchase of a LEGO Star Wars set. I could be wrong, and I’ll take a look in a few days and see if they have any available near me.

Here’s the statistics from the Toys R Us site:
Item #: 181363
SKU: F7384E2D
UPC/EAN/ISBN: 673419139625
Manufacturer #: 4591726

I’m not sure if “4591726″ is the actual LEGO # for this minifig or not. That’s what is listed in the Toys R Us system.

Product page: ToysRUs.com

Update: This is the same silver/chrome minifig being discussed at Brickset.

Update #2: I got an email (thanks Ruben) that you could buy them online and that they sold out online sometime around 10:30am (CST) and that he was able to purchase yesterday morning before they sold out. No idea yet on if stores have them in stock, since they are not consider a part of the normal inventory.

LEGO 8063 Technic Tractor with Trailer + Other Deals

By Chad, January 19, 2010

8063
Update: That didn’t take long, they sold out and removed the listing from LEGO Shop @ Home

If you or someone you know are looking to get into some of the more advanced Technic models, thanks to all of the clearance deals going on right now, you can get the 1100-piece 8063 Technic Tractor with Trailer for $49.98 at LEGO Shop @ Home. I’m not sure if it applies to other countries.

Features:
* 1100 pieces
* Tractor: Opening hood, turn gears, moving pistons
* Trailer: Turn gear tipping function
* Tractor measures 11″ x 7″ x 7.5″ (27cm x 17cm x 19cm)
* Trailer measures 15.5 inches long (39cm)

I’m considering picking one up – it’s a good color scheme in my opinion, and for $49.98, it’s a good selection of parts – good wheels, etc. (1100 parts!)

If that’s not something that interests you, if you are in the US, I’ve seen the 7632 Crawler Crane (from the City/Construction theme) for as low as $45. I picked up a 6243 Pirates Brickbeard’s Bounty for $49 + tax at a Target which is half off, and apparently they are also half-off at Walmart as well. I’ve also seen the 7686 Helicopter Transport for $20. I picked up a couple of 8402 Sports Car from the City/Traffic theme for under $5 at Target. It’s hit or miss what you’ll find, but right now is a good time to pick up some of these sets.

The Indiana Jones, Pirates, and Castle themes are all being discontinued/suspended for now (as well as older models from other themes) and some retailers are clearing them out right now to make way for the Atlantis theme, some of the new Space Police set, the Toy Story theme, and the upcoming Prince of Persia theme. If you are just looking to add to your spare parts, some of these deals are getting the price-per-piece down to around $0.04 or so.

Target (US) has 3 $30 LEGO sets for $20 apiece

By Chad, December 6, 2009

This week some Target retail stores in the US have three sets that normally sell for $29.99 on sale for $19.

The sets are:
5972 Space Police Container Heist (282 pieces)
8036 Star Wars Clone Wars Separatists Shuttle (259 pieces)
8960 Power Miners Thunder Driller (235 pieces)

The ads also mention that other selected LEGO Star Wars, Power Miners, and Space Police sets are on sale, however there is no mention of exactly which ones are on sale, at least in the flyer and on the Target.com website. It’s probably either a regional or store-by-store basis depending on what’s in stock.

On a related note, I noticed that Sears is carrying more LEGO sets. Keep in mind that it maybe a seasonal thing because of the holidays, but I saw several Star Wars sets, some Pirates sets, plus Power Miners, Bionicle, Space Police, Castle, and City.

Black Friday Sales on LEGO Sets

By Chad, November 26, 2009

There are going to be quite a few “Black Friday” LEGO-related sales in the US. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving (today) and usually features huge discounts from quite a few retailers.

I’m not going to cover the LEGO-related games for the X-Box, Wii, PS3, etc. in this post, but I thought I’d mention some of the more interesting sales I’ve come across, and keep in mind that some of these are dependent upon store location and stock availability – they maybe wrong or not carried by your local store.

K-Mart: Buy 2 Get 1 Free on certain sets. This supposedly applies to KMart.com

Meijer: May have Buy 2 Get 1 Free on certain sets.

Target: Supposedly will have quite a few LEGO sets on sale.

Toys R Us:
* 7623 Indiana Jones Temple Escape – $42.99 – Normally $59.99, 554 pieces
* 7680 Star Wars The Twilight – $59.99 – Normally $99.99, Clone Wars, 882 Pieces
* 8635 Agents: Mobile Command Center – $53.99 – Normally $89.99, No longer available in many places, Over 1,100 pieces

There will also be some really nice discounts and sales at LEGO S&H, but they are not active yet.

LEGO Star Wars 8017 Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter – $20 at Target, Amazon

By Chad, November 22, 2009

8017 Target is getting a bit of a jump on “Black Friday” sales, and is selling the Star Wars 8017 Darth Vader’s Tie Fighter for $20. If you want to purchase it in store or from Target, you can check store availability here at Target.com.

Because they have an arrangement through Amazon, you can also pick it up for $20 at Amazon plus shipping.

This model commemorates the 10th Anniversary of LEGO Star Wars, and is from Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, and comes with 251 pieces, which makes the price very appealing even if you aren’t necessarily into the Classic Star Wars line. It comes with a Darth Vader minifig as well.

Some LEGO Sets Heavily Discounted at Toys R Us Stores

By Jason, November 18, 2009

Huw at Brickset mentioned some sets at Target that will be heavily discounted on “Black Friday” (day after Thanksgiving in the US), including the 7048 Troll Warship. If you’re after some of the other Troll sets, they are being heavily discounted in other areas.

One of them is the 7041 Troll Battle Wheel, with 508 pieces and 6 minifigs, and I found one at a Toys R Us in the Houston area for $29.98.

These are not being offered through the Shop@Home LEGO site, at least in the US:

Sorry, item is not available in this country: United States.

As far as the official Toys R Us website, they are only offering LEGO Castle: Troll’s Dark/Moutain Fortress (7097) and Troll Assault Wagon (7038) so this is definitely an in-store thing. Neither the 7097 or 7038 seems to be discounted.

There have also been some older Agent sets as well. Some of these sets are not showing up on the Toys R Us website, and you are best checking through an in-store price checker.
